Necesity is the mother of invention as the saying goes, and Kate Evans demonstrates that axiom with her new invention, the Light Sleeper.
When Kate was a student, she often had trouble falling to sleep.

Kate devised the idea when she was in school, finding herself restless after hours of studying. The Light Sleeper is a device that tracks a small light across the ceiling; when you watch the light, keeping track of it as it slowly moves around the ceiling, you become more relaxed, which helps you to drift off. Brilliant! So often it is the simple ideas that are the best.
Kate says she likes the idea especially because it is the first sleep aid she knows of that does not include any kind of drug. That's really something we can get behind!
Her invention has been acquired by a company called Quincom, which already has large orders for the device.
